Department Volunteer Opportunities
Do you have a special skill or talent you'd like to share with High Country Fire-Rescue? Maybe you're a mechanic
and can help maintain the equipment. Or, maybe you're great with meetings and would be willing to host a neighborhood
informational meeting. If so, please contact the Chief for information
concerning volunteering.
These types of volunteer opportunities would not require special training or certification, such as
those required for Volunteer Staff. Your roll would be
that of supporting the Chief and the Staff in carrying out their duties and responsibilities.
Neighborhood Outreach - We solicit private citizens in each general neighborhood to serve as contacts for
fellow neighbors. Examples include daily calls to elderly or handicapped residents, specific neighborhood gatherings
or meetings, and more. If you think this might be of interest to you, please feel free to contact us.
Emergency Pet/Animal Equpment and Shelter -
- Do you have extra space in a coral or barn that could temporarily house animals as a result of their own
"home" being damaged or destroyed by fire?
- Do you have extra bridles, blankets, extra hay or other feeds, feed or water
pails, ect., for use in removing horses during an emergency situation?
- Do you have a horse trailer you'd be willing to
provide under such circumstances? If so, would you be able to respond to a call of need to assist in transporting
animals in urgent need of relocation?
- Do you have unused pet carriers, any size, in good condition, for
donation or emergency use for the relocation of house pets?
- Do you have fenced in areas for other types of animals,
such as goats or similar, that would need a temporary penned area?
If you can assist with any of these, your fellow community members will certainly be appreciative.
